Whistler in the Dark: Vinegar Tom

A play with music. A play about witches, with no witches in it.
In the 17th century, as now, those living on the fringes of society survive through the mercy and forbearance of their neighbors. In a rural village, that fragile balance is disturbed, and the arrival of a renowned witch-finder provides the community with a focus for its frustrations. When witchcraft exists in the minds of persecutor and persecuted, petty and everyday transgressions become hanging crimes.
