Desy will discuss the heritage of the War of 1812, including the "universal peace" that has existed between the United States and Great Britain and Canada ever since and several of the tangible legacies, including the impact the war had on Native Americans, memorials and shrines dedicated to the war, and the preservation of Boston’s own USS Constitution, “Old Ironsides.”
