I went to church at the Viper Room
It was a cold and windy New Year's Eve
There was a singer from Lake Charles, Louisiana
I was home and I didn't ever want to leave
Honey was dripping out of her voice
while she looked like she needed to comb her hair
She was tearing me up with some song called Buttercup
Heaven sounds were coming off that stage
She was coming down on me like a warm, Louisiana rain
Takin me to Shangri-La, you just had to be there....
(a song I wrote last nite for Lucinda, unkn Santa Barbara songwriter)
