Shubert Theater

We attended the Jersey Boys performance tonight at the Shubert Theater. I believe it should have been a great show. I truly wouldn't know, thanks to the 4 drunken ladies (and I use the term "ladies" loosely) that were seated next to us. They were drunk to the point where they stumbled and fell down the stairs. We were bumped, banged, and harassed by their rudeness all evening. If we wanted to see and HEAR 4 people in that condition, we would have gone to a cheap karaoke bar, not paid $350. for prime seats. We did not hear one song from the actual performers until the end of the 2nd act, when one of these drunken "ladies" passed out. At one point, the usher tried to ask them to stop and was unsuccessful. Security spoke to them at intermission, after they had purchased more drinks, and they quieted down for a few minutes until the security people left. Our night was already ruined. At the end of the show, we asked to speak with a manager, and were met by someone, not the manager, who asked us to email him in a few days and he would see about possibly getting us tickets to another show, but couldn't guarantee when or where, "maybe in the upper balcony or wherever". We left knowing that the Shubert does not value their patrons.
We joined the "Club" and purchased the tickets in December 2008 to assure we would get the best possible seats to a show that we were eagerly awaiting. The seats were good. The experience was AWFUL. I think we need to start going back to New York to actually attend the "theatre".
