The National Indoor Arena (The NIA) is one of the busiest large scale indoor sporting and entertainment venues in Europe. Since opening in 1991, it has welcomed visitors to over 30 different sports (including indoor rowing!) and an extensive variety of entertainment and music.
The NIA provides a perfect home for indoor sport at every level; its Mondo athletics track is the world’s premier surface and was first used at the European Indoor Athletics in March 2007, an event that attracted a worldwide television audience of more than 160 million. Fourteen world athletics records have been set at The NIA since it opened.
But it’s not just about sport. The multi-purpose arena is as flexible as they come - it can stage concerts, entertainment spectaculars, business conferences and exhibitions. And the adaptable format of The NIA Academy creates a more intimate theatre-style auditorium to accommodate smaller concerts, ballet as well as comedy and theatre.
The NIA has played host to artists such as Price, Oasis, Coldplay and Destiny’s Child, Sir Cliff Richard is a frequent visitor – he has played here over 50 times. Showcasing its versatility, The NIA has hosted many other forms of entertainment including the spectacular Disney on Ice shows, The Lord of the Dance, Cirque Du Soleil and La Traviata.

After stars reach a certain point, it's easy to forget what they became famous for and concentrate solely on their personas. Madonna is such a star. Madonna rocketed to stardom so quickly in 1984 that it obscured most of her musical virtues....
Michael's brilliantly engaging delivery and effortless rapport with the audience have led to him to be hailed, by audiences and critics alike, as the best new stand up to emerge in a decade. He took the comedy world by storm last year selling out shows around the UK....
Few bands did more than Nickelback to establish the force of slick, commercially minded post-grunge in the 2000s. Led by vocalist Chad Kroeger, the band initially emerged in the late '90s as Canada's answer to Creed, prizing a blend of gruff vocals and distorted (yet radio-friendly) guitars....
The groundbreaking theatrical masterpiece by the legendary writing team of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber is coming back to the stage. The first collaboration between Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be performed on the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar is one of the most popular and enduring works ever created for the musical theatre....
John Bishop is an actor. He has appeared in 28 films and television shows. He was first cast as the character 'Major Sinclair (uncredited)' in 'Jet Pilot' in the year 1957.

An art rocker who occasionally writes pop-oriented material, Chris de Burgh has never been as popular in his native Britain or the United States as he was in other areas of the world. In America, he's only managed two Top 40 hits -- 1983's "Don't Pay the Ferryman" (number 34) and the number three ballad "The Lady in Red" (1986)....
