Alejandro Murguía Reads from "Stray Poems"

Thursday, May 22 7:30p to 9:00p
Mrs. Dalloway's Berkeley, CA

Alejandro Murguía reads from "Stray Poems: San Francisco Poet Laureate Series No. 6" (City Lights, 2014). "Stray Poems" opens with Alejandro Murguía's inaugural address, followed by a selection of his most recent work, composed over the past twelve years. These are poems of the 21st century, written in a combination of English and Spanish--the patois of contemporary America. Angry, rebellious, subversive, sentimental hip, urban, local, global. Murguía is SF's first Latino Poet Laureate.
