Troilus and Cressida

Thursday, Nov 14, 2013 8:00p to 10:15p

Impact Theatre, renowned for its striking contemporary renditions of Shakespeare's works, takes the most difficult play in the canon and makes it blisteringly relevant for today's audience. A powerhouse cast, stunning fight choreography by Dave Maier (the Bay Area's preeminent fight director), and lean and mean direction by Artistic Director Melissa Hillman makes this the Shakespeare event of the fall.

Shakespeare Can Write a Terrible Play

This is the proof unless we doubt SS could have written it. It is not just an offensive and disagreeable plot, the language for much of it is also convoluted obscure and unattractive. SS wrote great plays, uneven ones and problem ones but only one is a real Stinker and our local crew deliver it plain and by the book which is more than it deserves. Go only if you need to check off Troilus from your seen them all list.
