"Flights of Mind" at Berkeley Public Library, by Vita Wells
Comprised of well over 200 altered books, "Flights of Mind" emerges from deep in the heart of Berkeley's Central Library, rushes through the oculus, soars some forty feet through the atrium, and hurls itself to the great window, sky-bound. The piece celebrates possibility and community across space and time.
The work has been met with such an overwhelmingly positive public response that the Library has extended its run through March.
