AJAYU is a seven piece band that plays Andean fusion music with strong instrumentation and socially, culturally, and politically conscious lyrics. Instrumentation includes quena and zampoñas (flutes), charango (small guitar from Bolivia), guitar, bass, violin, and bombo (large drum from Ecuador). The music is rooted in the indigenous cultures of the Andes, however the original compositions provide an international and modern twist.
