Endemic Taxa of the Coast Ranges of Northern California

Location: Visitor Center, Regional Parks Botanic Garden. The California Coast Ranges are unusually rich in endemic species. In this class we'll set the stage by describing serpentine, its origin, and its peculiar properties. Turning to endemism in general and, more specifically, to edaphic endemism, you will learn how a species adapts. The species are familiar, but you might not know how special they are.
