PBO is excited to welcome Susan Graham in November. To celebrate Henry Purcell’s 350th
birthday, the prominent American mezzo-soprano sings the role of Dido in the composer’s
masterpiece, Dido and Aeneas, leading a cast that includes baritone William Berger, soprano
Christine Brandes, soprano Céline Ricci, contralto Jill Grove, tenor Brian Thorsett, and the Philharmonia Chorale. McGegan conducts this program that also features Purcell’s suite
written for Aphra Behn’s Abdelazar, or The Moor’s Revenge, and his early Chacony in G
minor.
