The Kitchen Syncopators perform original and traditional American southern music, with an acoustic sound built on the streets of New Orleans and cultivated on stages and streets around the world. Their music is a blend of rural country blues and old-time music mixed with early urban ragtime, jazz, and different modern archaics, being played with a fire and spirit rarely seen, which has kept these young men winning any and every audience they're put in front of. As a group the Kitchen Syncopators started 1999 in New Orleans spending their first few years playing the streets, dives and festivals of the French Quarter, cutting their teeth under some of the best musicians the town had to offer. Keeping New Orleans as their base, the band began touring the American west coast, where over the last few years they have independently sold thousands of records and built a strong and diverse fan base throughout the western states. They've been filling rooms from British Columbia down to Mexico bringing audiences to their feet with their live shows. They also do annual tours in the streets and clubs of Western Europe and the eastern US. There is no hype needed once you hear them, it is just good raw music drawn from somewhere deep in America. They cast a spell with driving rhythms and soulful singing and sweet, dark and sometimes haunted melodies. As a band and musicians they have shared stages with Baby Gramps, The Be Good Tanya's, Old Crow Medicine Show, Jolie Holland, Del Mccourey, Michael Hurley, Foghorn Stringband, Otis Taylor, Danny Barnes, Splitlip Rayfield, The Yard Dogs Roadshow, The Crooked Jades, etc..to name a few, and continue to tour regularly.
