True West at the Bellingham Theatre Guild

Sam Shepard's masterful True West comes to the Guild stage March 29 to April 14, 2013. Meet Lee and Austin, two brothers reuniting and revisiting old resentments and unexpected twists in their relationship. Hollywood screenwriter Austin goes home to southern California to housesit for his mother while she’s away. While there, he reunites with his drunk, drifter brother, Lee. The brothers do not get along and Austin fears Lee will jeopardize his career as a writer and producer.
Director Robert Cervantez… Show more says he’s looking forward to satisfied audiences and hopes everyone leaves the theatre entertained. “It is a very thought-provoking show,” he said. “I think everyone will reflect on their current family situations.” Cervantez said many people will relate to the brotherly love (and conflict). Thursday-Saturday shows are at 7:30 pm: March 29 and 30, and April 4, 5, 6 and 11, 12, 13.
