"Body Talk: Sexual Triumphs, Trials, and Revelations" is a performance of true stories about sex, birth, mothering, menopause, mammograms, wax jobs, and what it means to be a woman. Back by popular demand - having previously performed to sold-out audiences in September - "Body Talk" returns for three performances: 7:30 p.m. Friday Nov.… Show more 30, 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 1, 2012 at the Firehouse Performing Arts Center in Bellingham, Wash.
Directed by Karee Wardrop, five women will perform dramatic readings of monologues, created by Maria McLeod, based on in-depth interviews she conducted with women across the United States: a mammography technician, nun, an esthetician, new mother, transgendered woman, Buddhist feminist, and more. Their stories, told with sincerity, comedy and conviction, are about events that shape women's lives, from discovering one's sexual identity, to mastectomies, to menopause.
Performers include Marie Eaton, Sheila Larken Goodwin, Pam Kuntz, Hannah Reclam, and Sarah Eden Wallace. (Adult content)
