Downtown Baton Rouge will be the place to be on Friday night, December 5! There will be 2 races and the Festival of Lights featuring Santa Claus, live music, fireworks, free outdoor ice skating and much more. Bring your family out for the run and enjoy the holiday fun!
In keeping with the holiday spirit, we are partnering with the U.S. Marines' Toys for Tots program . Runners and spectators… Show more are encouraged to bring a NEW, unwrapped toy to donate to the race site. Please, no weapon toys. All toys collected will benefit children in the Baton Rouge area.

General Information
To register as a Volunteer, simply select a Volunteer ticket option at the top of this page. Note, all tickets are free and information will be collected at the checkout time. You do not need to volunteer for the entire day. Please let us know when you register how many hours you would like to work and what time slot you can attend. Descriptions of what we need for volunteers are below.
Dates and Times
Packet Pickup: December 4th at Raising Canes on Corporate Blvd 10AM to 6PM
Day of Event: December 5th Setup from 12PM to 6PM, Event Assistance 6PM till we're done.
Day of Race Setup and Organization
We are looking for 20 Volunteers to help set up Tents, Rope off Race Locations, Gather Ice Chests, Trash Cans Place Banners and help organize food and beverage. Dress for the weather and for work. You may get dirty.
Registration Tents
We need 20 people to help at the registration tents. This position will involve helping with packet pickup for people who did not do early packet pickup at Raising Canes on Corporate. This position will also help with handing out the correct T-Shirt sizes, Late Registration, and Race Accidental Waivers. We will need to get drivers licenses for identification from each participant and have an adult sign off on all children registries.
Course Monitors
We need 20 Gleeful Reindeer/People to help as course monitors. This job will be directing racers down the appropriate course and to prevent people from cutting across the course. Since this is a timed event and awards will be given we must make sure people stay on the course. If someone needs to drop out of the race they should walk back the way they came or they must surrender their badge which has the timing chip on it.
This Position Will also have a few slots as announcers to let the runners know they have reached the 1 Mile and 2 Mile Distance. You should be prepared to cheer the runners on. If you have a Battery Operated Boom Box you should bring it and help play some appropriate "Pump Up" music. Dancing and appropriate Shenanigans is encouraged.
Water Station Workers
We need 10 Elves/People to help as course monitors. This job will be preparing and handing out Water and Possibly Gatorade to Runners. You should also encourage runners on and help with the overall mood of the race. If you have a Battery Operated Boom Box you should bring it and help play some appropriate "Pump Up" music. Dancing and appropriate Shenanigans is encouraged.
Food and Beverage Workers
We need 15 Santas/People to help hand out food and beverages to racers. This position may helping with taking tickets for food and drinks that are for sale. We will need people to pick up food donations from local businesses. These slots can be needed throughout the day of the day of the race. Please list the times you are availble when registering.
Timing Assistant
We need 2 people to help with entering racer numbers for the race timing company. Anyone who registered late or at the event will not be on the Timing Spreadsheet and will need to manually added. This position will also assist the timing company with any other needs they may have.
Awards and Prize Distribution
We need 5 people to help with Announcing and Distribution of Awards for Race Winners. There will be several awards for Each Age and Gender Group. This position will need to organize with the Timing Company to get the Race Results when the race has ended.
Clean Up and Tear Down
We need as many people as we can to help Clean Up and tear down after the event. We don't want to leave a huge mess for the city to Clean Up.
Race Location
Races will begin and end at Lafayette Park in front of the Shaw Building (River Side) on the Corner of Lafayette and North Blvd.
Starting Time
Jingle Bell Jog 1 mile fun run will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Reindeer Run 5K will begin at 7:20 p.m.
