I had the misfortune today of taking some friends from Maine to this local oceanview upscale restaurant. We started with the clam chowder, which I wrongly assumed was freshly made (this is Cape Cod after all) and it was canned, I believe Snow's. Oh, and they had the nerve to charge $5.95 per cup (not bowl). The waiter was new and it showed. He even admitted it was canned chowder. We ordered a clam roll, scallop roll, salmon salad and "mango crab rangoons". The waiter came back later to say they had no clams yet as "they aren't in season yet, probably 2 more weeks". Thank God every other restaurant on the Cape doesn't use their supplier, as they have them year round. The grilled salmon came poached, on sad, wilted greens. The rangoons were so densely drenched in old fryolator grease they were inedible. The scallops were fair at best. When the waiter told the manger(?owner), who was sitting 2 tables away from us doing paperwork, that we didn't care for the rangoons, he loudly asked him when in our meal duration did we complain...then waved him off saying loudly, "just take it off the bill, take it off!". It was quite an embarassment to bring friends who are also used to good seafood to this abysmal excuse of a restaurant. I feel especially sorry for the 2 women dining nearby who were in the process of booking a wedding reception with this place.
All I can say is, Gordon Ramsay would have a field day at this joint!
