Malki Museum's 18th Annual Agave Harvest & Roast
The Agave Harvest and Roast is an annual event held on two consecutive Saturdays in April. On April 6th,Daniel McCarthy, will lead the harvesting of the Agave. Meet at Cahuilla Tewanet Overlook on the Palms to Pines Hwy 74 at 10am sharp!
The harvested agave is brought back to the Malki Museum on April 13th. The agave hearts are cooked in a traditional roasting pit and served with other customary Native foods. There are also a variety of demonstrations throughout the day.
