Decanter: A Celebration of Maryland Wine and Racing

The Maryland Wineries Association in conjunction with the Maryland Jockey Club presents the third annual Decanter: A Celebration of Maryland Wine and Racing on April 20-21, 2013 at the historic Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.

General admission tickets start at $30 ($50 for two days) and feature a unique view of live horse races, samples of fine Maryland wine, access to local artisans, live music, specialty food, and equine and wine arts & crafts all in the Pimlico Grandstand.

Attendees may… Show more purchase an upgraded $50 ($90 for two days) Decanter Pass that includes all of the above, plus a full size Riedel wine glass and samples of an exclusive Decanter wine from each attending winery.

Horses will race on the dirt and turf courses at regular intervals throughout the event, and guests can wager on all races each day.

"We have made it a priority to build our customer base with events which help us reach new fans," said Maryland Jockey Club president Tom Chuckas. "The partnership with Decanter is a win-win for both organizations and I'm looking forward to the third annual event.”

“We love this event,” said Kevin Atticks, executive director of the Maryland Wineries Association. “Honoring the heritage and traditions of Maryland is what Decanter is about.”

Attendees can learn from the experts in seminars focusing on the local wine industry, how to wager on the races, and more.

All wines will be available for purchase by the glass for enjoyment at the event, and by the bottle and case to take home to stock your cellar.

The event is from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, and the event is rain or shine. No ticket refunds will be offered. Media and other sponsorships are still available.
