Hosted by Honorary Chairs Duff Goldman, Mary Alice Yeskey and Geof Manthorne of Charm City Cakes, the fourth annual gala will include cocktails, a silent and live auction and delicious tastings from Baltimore’s top chefs and restaurants. All proceeds from the gala will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the largest pediatric research facility in America. The event has been organized by chairs Cindy Feinstein, Diane Standeven, Donna Todorovich and founding chair, Judi Imel, mother of St. Jude patient, Keeley Imel from Ellicott City, MD.

Working together under one roof, our physicians and scientists have pioneered treatments that have helped push the overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today. The survival rate for the most common form of childhood cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, has risen from just 4 percent in 1962 to 94 percent today. St. Jude freely shares their research and treatment protocols with institutions around the world, including here in Maryland.

On average, 7,800 active patients visit the hospital each year, most of whom are treated on an outpatient basis. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.8 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions. No family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
