Distant Galaxies and the HETDEX Project

Dr. Steve Finkelstein will give a talk, "Billions of Years in the Making: Very Distant Galaxies and the HETDEX project," in conjunction with a new exhibit about one of the best stargazing places in the world right here in Texas. "The McDonald Observatory: 75 Years of Stargazing" exhibit features large graphics of the night sky and a 1,000 pound model of a telescope, among other artifacts and photos. The exhibit is free and open to the public in the museum's third-floor Rotunda Gallery.
