A'lante's proto-flamenco piece reinterprets Khalil Gibran's famous poem The Prophet, imagining responses to modern dilemmas like cell phone etiquette and Facebook friendship. The juxtaposition of old and new culture incorporates Eastern European elements for a new approach to pure flamenco. This event is supported in part by Mid-America Arts Alliance, National Endowment for the Arts, Texas Commission on the Arts, & the City of Austin's Cultural Arts Division. Last performance is Jan 19th at 3pm.
