Gallery Talk: Lakes Were Rivers

Thursday, Jul 18, 2013 7:00p

The artists of Lakes Were Rivers discuss their work in the exhibition “Contemporary Photographic Practice and the Archive.”
The exhibition was organized in cooperation with the collective, an Austin-based group of artists working in photography and video. Members created works influenced by the Ransom Center—its space, purpose, and collections. About 50 new works are displayed alongside collection materials chosen by the artists, highlighting how archives stimulate new ideas and creative acts.
