Social Justice and Music: Music to Build Bridges in Society

Henry Mollicone, associate director of the Ernest Bloch Music festival in Newport, Oregon, and director of its composers’ symposium, will discuss the ways in which music has been able to serve social justice causes in modern times. We will be looking at examples of how powerful music, from both popular and classical traditions have promoted just causes in many different areas. Mollicone is a Woodrow Wilson Scholar, opera composer and conductor.
