Austin Trail of Lights

The Austin Trail of Lights is making the season bright with a celebration for the whole family to enjoy. The festivities begin with the Trail of Lights 5K on Dec. 15 and the grand opening in Zilker Park on Dec. 16th. This year’s events include numerous performers with designated themes each night. Austin Trail of Lights is brought to the city by a partnership between RunTex Carrozza Foundation and Forefront Austin with H-E-B as the lead sponsor.

Trail of Lights organizers have selected a theme for… Show more each evening:

Sunday: “Light it Up!” opening night festivities. Performance by Jonathas Ojeda from Season 2 of NBC’s “The Voice”
Monday: Heroes Night saluting members of the military and public service personnel. Color guard and pipe-and-drum corps performances.
Tuesday: Uniquely Austin Night. Details to be announced.
Wednesday: Heritage Night. A celebration of the city’s many heritages.
Dec. 20: School Spirit Night. Attendees asked to wear their school colors.
Dec. 21: Caroling Night. Austinites attempt to break the world record for the most people caroling together.
Dec. 22: Santa and Elf Night. Trail-goers encouraged to wear Christmas garb, such as Santa caps, elf ears and reindeer antlers.
Dec. 23: Grand finale.
