THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA features three Butler School of Music students in the final concert of the year. String Concerto Competition winner Jillian Bloom performs Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No. 1, and guest conductor Tim Laughlin presents the world premiere of I and the Night Sky: Nocturne for Orchestra by graduate student composer Zack Stanton. Finally, Maestro Gerhardt Zimmermann leads the orchestra in a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 8. See webpage for details.
