“I Have Seen the Future: Norman Bel Geddes Designs America”
Friday, Dec 21, 2012 10:00a
Norman Bel Geddes was an innovative theater and industrial designer, architect, and urban planner whose impact on the American lifestyle is still evident. The Ransom Center is organizing a major retrospective exhibition about him which will open in September 2012. The Bel Geddes exhibition will be the first since 1979 to examine his entire career. Highlights include models of streamlined cars and ocean liners, and images from his spectacular 1939 New York World's Fair “Futurama” display.
