In this parable of the Obama age, desperation, desire, and existential
dread connect the lives of a frustrated filmmaker, a suicidal comic, a
failed academic, a career waitress, a would-be porn star, a self-help
guru, and a giant feral hog. The Founding Fathers, Twix bars, chaos
theory, ironic racism, and dangerous masturbation pass under the gaze
of an indifferent universe.
