Civilian Conservation Corps in Colorado
The Civilian Conservation Corps or CCC was created as part of the New Deal program in the 1930s. This military-style program provided work, food, and a paycheck to over 2.5 million men. If you’ve ever driven on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park or been to Red Rocks Amphitheater you’ve benefited from the hard work of these men.
