Gatekeeper Training

FEE : There is no fee to attend but registration is required. Morning coffee and lunch are included in this training.
A full day training for adults in school and community settings
designed to provide the fundamentals of suicide prevention. This
training will provide up-to-date information about suicide; teach basic
suicide intervention skills; increase personal confidence and ability to
effectively… Show more respond to suicial behavior; and identify helpful
resources. This training is the foundation of the Maine Youth Suicide
Prevention Program and pre-requisite to Myspp school-based curriculum
training.
Who Should Attend
School,
community, health services agency professional, law enforcement,
primary care practice staff or anyone working in direct services who
might be in a position to identify and refer someone who may be
suicidal.
Accommodations
The site is wheelchair accessible. Sign language interpreter and/or other accommodations are available upon requests made no later than 3 weeks prior to event.
CONTACT HOURS
If requested, certificates will be emailed upon completion of this training. No partial credit will be given for this activity.
6 contact hours for
nurses. Ccsme Provider Unit is an approved provider of continuing
nursing education by ANA-Maine, an accredited approver by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation
6 contact hours pending by the Maine Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors
6 Category I
contact hours for Psychologists are provided. Ccsme is a pre-approved
sponsor and provider of Professional Education Activities for
Psychologists
Certificate
of attendance for 6 contact hours for social workers, licensed clinical
professional counselors, and other professionals
6 Ches credits for Certified Health Educator Specialists
