Chris Rock is someone I have always admired as a comedian. He understands when it is time to be silly and he knows how to use observational comedy. Although he is often yelling, it isn't a crutch he relies on like other comedians. Rock also updates his material frequently, which is really important for a personality such as his, where trying to fake excitement and rage can look really silly if it isn't fresh enough in his mind to still be emotional over.
Chris Rock is a true comedian, worthy of the attention he has recieved.

Anybody know why Chris walked off stage before he finished his act on Sunday night?

Chris Rock is a serious comic: his comedy is based on hitting power structure and established institutions from political parties to marriage. At any given performance you might think he's going too far or "he can't possibly be saying that...", etc. but in the end you will have laughed so hard it won't matter.
