Huge loves Atlanta and we love making things. To connect these two passions, we’ve formed Huge Creators in partnership with MASS Collective as a way to facilitate creative conversations in Atlanta and honor local creatives who are making cool stuff and making a difference.
On Thursday, November 20 th four creative entrepreneurs will join us to celebrate and discuss the uniqueness of the city we love and how we can elevate ATL creatively and culturally.

Q&A will follow the discussion.

Derek Fridman
Derek Fridman dreams up innovative and engaging digital experiences for brands of all kinds, specializing in the design of multi-channel platforms for touch, mobile, web and in-store. At Huge, Derek has applied his expertise to projects for Audi, HBO GO, and Lowe’s. Previously, he led the development of award winning touchscreen retail and mobile entertainment applications for The Coca-Cola Company, Disney, Adobe, AutoTrader UK, and New Balance as Creative Director at Sapient Nitro.
Michael Tavani
Michael recently launched Switchyards (www.switchyards.com), a design-focused consumer startup incubator based in Atlanta. He's also a Co-Founder of Scoutmob. Scoutmob is a venture-backed & nationally recognized ecommerce & local mobile company that was named one of the top apps in all categories by Wired and Mashable and one of the country's most promising companies by Forbes.
Michael was named one of 20 People to Watch in 2014 in Atlanta by Creative Loafing, has been awarded Top Up-and-Coming Entrepreneur at TiECON Southeast 2013 and 2010 Mobile Marketer of the Year by the Tech Marketing Awards and is a frequent speaker on startups. He has been quoted in/on Wired, CNN, CNBC, The Washington Post, Businessweek, Mashable, NPR, Travel + Leisure, CBS, and Fast Company, among others. He is the host of On Doers (www.ondoers.com), a conversation series about founders and beginnings.
Michael lives in Atlanta with his wife, Stephanie and sons, Jarrett and Hudson, and holds a Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law and a BA from Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.
Jen Soong
Jen Soong is the founder and curator of Root City Market, a pop-up market designed to connect culture, commerce and community. Inspired by London weekend markets, she set out to unite local makers across the city and transform urban spaces into vibrant marketplaces. She wants Atlanta to become a destination for makers in the South.
A graduate of Cornell University, Jen co-founded the Atlanta and Boston chapters of Room to Read and has served on the National Advisory Board of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). She lives in Decatur, GA with her husband and two kids. She loves homemade lemonade stands and Swedish fish.
Davy Minor
Davy Minor is a writer. He was the former Editor-in-Chief of Ohmpark, which was three times voted Best Local Music Blog by Creative Loafing readers. He is curator of Deer Bear Wolf, a multi-faceted platform that includes a record label, a quarterly printed magazine, a small publishing press, a monthly variety show, and an online retail store. He’s also coordinator of the forthcoming Phoenix Festival, a celebration of Atlanta’s art, music, and literary community held at an abandoned motel.
Matthew Ludwikowski
Matthew Ludwikowski is Brash’s Creative Director and is involved in all aspects of developing Brash into a fully integrated coffee retail company. He has helped Brash organically transition from a direct coffee importer to Atlanta’s premier coffee roasting company. Matthew has 9 years of experience in the coffee industry and often speaks at conferences worldwide on related topics such as roasting, storage and packaging, importing/exporting, processing, growing, and sourcing. In 2012, he won the Southeast Regional Brewers Cup Champion and received a Top 6 Score in the National Brewers Cup Championship.
