Grandfather Sun, Grandmother Moon: Wixárika Arts of Modern West Mexico

Friday, Oct 24 10:00p

More dates & times (1)

This Native North American exhibition showcases art objects representing the Wixárika (often known as the Huichol) indigenous people of modern western Mexico. Their stunning beaded objects and pressed-yarn "paintings," brightly colored and precise, span the sacred to the secular, from prayer bowls used on their pilgrimage ceremonies to masks made expressly for collectors.
