Tikvah: A Concert of Peace, Unity & Renewal (neoPhonia New Music Series)

Tuesday, Sep 17, 2013 8:00p

"L'chaim!" Inspired by the memoirs of Holocaust survivor Philip Markowicz, Tikvah, a powerful chamber oratorio by composer Burton Beerman, is a celebration of life and the triumph of the human spirit, dramatically and soulfully expressed through music and dance. This work combines the talents of the Red Clay Saxophone Quartet; Jan Berry Baker, saxophone; Maria Valdes, soprano; W. Dwight Coleman, narrator; the GSU University Singers, Deanna Joseph, conductor; and dancer Celesta Haraszti.
