The National Center for Civil and Human Rights will host the film screening, Witness: Rio, as part of the Center’s celebration to commemorate the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In advance of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, the HBO Documentary chronicles photographer Eros Hoagland’s experience in Rio de Janeiro as he captures the crippling war between police and powerful drug gangs who struggle for power and territory.
