The members of metalcore outfit Avenged Sevenfold (or A7X) were still attending high school in Huntington Beach, CA, when they formed their band in 1999. Nevertheless, it didn't take long for M....
Stone Sour
Stone Sour Remove performer from this event
Although Slipknot made their mainstream debut in the late '90s, singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root got their start a few years prior in Stone Sour. Hellyeah Remove performer from this event
Heavy metal "supergroup" Hellyeah formed in 2006 in Dallas, TX, around the talents of Mudvayne's Chad Gray (vocals) and Greg Tribbett (guitar), Nothingface's Tom Maxwell (guitar) and Jerry Montano -- the latter also played with Danzig -- and Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott....

New Medicine Remove performer from this event
Formed in 2009, New Medicine deliver modern hard rock from the Minneapolis side of Minnesota’s Twin Cities. The quartet, consisting of singer/guitarist Jake Scherer, bassist Matt Brady, guitarist Dan Garland, and drummer Ryan Guanzon, have a style that blends the drive of hard rock with the emotion of post-grunge, giving them a rowdy, slick sound that mixes equal parts swagger and sulkiness....
Airbourne
Airbourne Remove performer from this event
Airbourne are a straightforward rock band in the Aussie pub rock tradition of AC/DC, the Angels, and Rose Tattoo: four guys with beers in hand who would rather die than be caught wearing a pink shirt....

Too AC, Too DC, For Me

They certainly have the skill and energy to make their own name, but right now, the AC/DC "tribute" bands seem a bit more honest.
