Carter Alan Discusses Radio Free Boston: The Rise and Fall of WBCN

Wednesday, Oct 16, 2013 7:30p to 9:00p
Arlington High School Arlington, MA

From 1968 until 2009, WBCN both pioneered and defined progressive rock radio. Carter Alan was a DJ there from 1979 until 1998. He will appear at Arlington Community Education's Conversations speaker series to discuss his new book Radio Free Boston: The Rise and Fall of WBCN. It is the story of a city in tumult, of artistic freedom, of music and politics and identity, and of the cultural, technological, and financial forces that killed rock radio.
