The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers' educational foundation Advancing Hispanic Excellence in Technology, Engineering, Math and Science (AHETEMS) presents Jamie Escalante, the East Los Angeles high school calculus teacher who was profiled in the movie "Stand and Deliver."
Escalante was presented with the Presidential Medal for Excellence in Educations by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 and was inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame in 1999. Everyone welcome.
