SCHAS presents “The Aloes of Southern Africa”
“The Aloes of Southern Africa” is a compilation of photographs taken in Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, and Mozambique, and cultivated plants. Species range from those just a few centimeters in diameter and height, to those of several meters tall and wide. While some aloes are medicinal, most are not, and some are actually quite poisonous. Inflorescences are also extremely variable with some producing amazingly colorful candelabrums, and others resembling those of bulbs and annuals.
