Arboretum Botanical Information Consultant Frank McDonough will instruct this class that looks at more than a dozen major plant families represented by specimens here at the Arboretum. You will learn about plant classification, how to identify plants to genus using both printed and digital plant keys, how to identify and determine the most important plant structures for identifying an unknown plant,… Show more strategies for using the internet to help you identify plants and other tools and skills useful in plant identification. Each student is required to have a 10X or 20X jewelers loupe (preferably with light) and a copy of "How to Identify Plants" by H.D. Harrington.
