This training meets the standards set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and prepares Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)… Show more to become approved supervisors. Topics covered during the training will include the purpose of supervision, important features of supervision, behavioral skills training, delivering performance feedback, evaluating the effects of supervision, and ongoing professional development. The live portion of the training will be delivered via lecture, role plays, and small group breakout sessions during which time participants will discuss practical and ethical case scenarios. Following the live training, participants will be required to complete and pass an on-line exam. All continuing education credits will be provided following the completion of the live training and on-line exam.
Helena Maguire, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, received her Master of Science in Human Services Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Helena has worked extensively in the field of community based human service delivery systems in Massachusetts. Her areas of experience include staff training, family training, transitioning children and adults to inclusive settings, and the treatment of severe behavioral disorders. Helena has served as Program Director at Vinfen Corporation and as Director of Adult Services at the May Institute. Currently, she is the Senior Director of School Services at Melmark New England and an adjunct faculty member at Endicott College.
Dr. Nicole Heal is the Director of Professional Development, Training, and Research at Melmark New England. Dr. Heal received her Ph.D. (2007) in Behavioral Psychology and an M.A. (2005) in Human Development and Family Life from the University of Kansas, and a B.S. (2000) in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Maine at Farmington. Dr. Heal was an Assistant Professor in the Behavior Analysis and Therapy Program at Southern Illinois University (2008 – 2011). Dr. Heal continues to teach graduate level courses in Applied Behavior Analysis as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Massachusetts-Boston and Endicott College. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Heal currently or previously served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Journal of Organizational Behavior Management, and Behavior Analysis in Practice . Her research interests include designing efficacious and preferred educational environments for young children with and without developmental disabilities, the extension and refinement of preference assessment methods at the individual and group level, and assessment and treatment of problem behavior.
