On the Wings of Eagles: Alaska's Contribution to Operation Magic Carpet
Alaska Jewish Museum's inaugural exhibit tells the story of one of the greatest humanitarian events of all time, the airlift of 50,000 Yemenite Jews from Yemen to Israel by Alaska Airlines. The exhibit features photographs, artifacts, a slide show, film footage,and two art installations by Anchorage artists Margret Hugi-Lewis and Don Mohr. The museum is open Sun-Thurs, 1-6pm. Regular admission is $7.00, seniors, students and military $6.00, and children $5.00.
