Fireside Chat: Winds, Currents, and Ice in Arctic Seas
Winds, currents, and sea ice interplay in complex ways in the coastal and offshore regions of the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas. Join us as Warren Horowitz, a scientist with Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, describes coastal and offshore sea ice conditions and explains how new technologies provide us with a better understanding of ocean currents. He’ll also discuss ways scientists study winds in the region and the role winds may play in directing the movement of currents and reshaping of sea ice.
