Arctic Flight: A Century of Alaska Aviation
Alaska has a remarkable aviation history, from its early days of uncharted regions to its strategic role in World War II to today. Here, pilots must also be inventors, mechanics, polar explorers and daredevils. This exhibition’s centerpiece is a Stearman C2B biplane that was flown by several legendary bush pilots including barnstormer Noel Wien. Other highlights include Will Rogers crash artifacts and mementos from Joe Crosson, the first pilot to land on Mount McKinley. On view Feb. 9-Aug. 11.
