The Civic Theatre of Allentown was founded in 1927. It is now is a 501c3 non-profit organization. The theatre shows movies (see "Stages" below) and as well as locally producing live shows. Civic's devotees and adherents prides itself on creating Broadway-spirited productions featuring some of the local region’s finest talents. It is also the Lehigh Valley’s only full time cinema exclusively showing art, independent and foreign films.
