The word is German and means “table music” or “music for the feast.”
The name is apt because Tafelmusik has produced a feast of firsts and bests, and has won admiration throughout the musical world.

Tafelmusik’s vision is to be an international centre of excellence in period performance for generations to come. To sustain this vision, Tafelmusik is now creating artists and audiences for the future through artist training and audience development activities.

Tafelmusik’s mission is to engage… Show more audiences locally, provincially, nationally and internationally with historically informed live and recorded musical experiences on period instruments.

Canada's award-winning orchestra on baroque instruments presents House of Dreams, a memorized program of works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and Marais, with stage direction, narration and stunning projected images of paintings by Vermeer, Canaletto and Watteau. With these elements, Tafelmusik takes the audience on a journey to the meeting places of baroque art and music -- five European homes where these paintings and this music were first seen and heard.

Come Early for Dinner! Soka Bistro is open for dinner M-F 5:30-7:00 pm, Sat/Sun 5:00-7:00 pm. Only $10.50 for an all you can eat buffet.
