The Making of the Hudson River School brings together more than 150 works from private collections and the museums holdings by well known artists such as Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church, Asher B. Durand and William Hart, who turned to the American Landscape into a source of inspiration and subject matter. Paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, published books and handwritten letters are displayed together for the viewer to discover the formation of the Hudson River School.
