‘Putting It Together’

Revues stringing together numbers from Stephen Sondheim musicals sometimes seem to crop up more often than the original shows. One of the most successful is "Putting It Together." The juxtaposition of songs suggests that the older pair of singers is going through a rocky spot in a marriage. Two of the younger cast members seem to be potential rivals for the couple’s affections, and the fifth performer usually adds a comic commentary.
